White Jacob's Ladder (Polemonium foliosissimum var. alpinum), also commonly known as Alpine Jacob’s Ladder, is a beautiful native perennial that brings vibrant color and refined texture to mountain-inspired and pollinator-friendly landscapes. Clumps of finely divided, fern-like foliage are combined with airy stems topped with clusters of rich white flowers in late spring and early summer, creating a soft, natural display that brightens part-shade gardens and cooler sunny locations. Native to high-elevation meadows and open woodlands, this hardy wildflower thrives in well-drained soils with moderate moisture and pairs beautifully with columbines, geraniums, and native grasses. Use White Jacob's Ladder in woodland gardens, part shade garden beds and borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens.
