Uinta Penstemon (Penstemon uintahensis) is an adorable, petite Utah endemic penstemon prized for its charming lavender tubular flowers and compact size. Native to high alpine areas in the Uinta range, this penstemon forms attractive clumps of glossy green foliage that remain handsome throughout the growing season. Thriving in full sun to part shade and well-drained soils, Uinta Penstemon makes a fun addition to rock walls, containers, at the edge of pavers or flagstone, or the front of garden beds and borders. If Uinta Penstemon is being planted in valley areas, it will likely appreciate some protection from hot mid-afternoon sun.
