Spotted Joe-Pye Weed (Eutrochium maculatum) is a tall, vibrant, and bold native perennial that brings both height and habitat to the garden. Strong upright stems—often marked with subtle purple spotting—support broad whorls of foliage that create a lush, architectural presence through the season. By mid to late summer, large domed clusters of dusty rose to mauve flowers rise above the foliage, drawing in butterflies, native bees, and other nectar-loving insects in abundance. Naturally found in moist meadows and stream edges, Spotted Joe-Pye Weed thrives in richer soils and consistent moisture, making it an excellent choice for rain gardens, irrigated pollinator plantings, or other areas where water is more abundant.
