Skyrocket, or Scarlet Gilia, (Ipomopsis aggregata) is a very abundant wildflower found all over Utah. This perennial boasts an abundance of brilliant, long, tubular flowers in red, pink, or, sometimes, white. These showy blooms last all summer long and are beloved by hummingbirds! These plants are relatively short-lived and often die after flowering, but can live for several years in rosette form. If conditions are right, the plant will reseed itself. Add this plant to rock gardens, pollinator or hummingbird gardens, or prairie or meadow plantings.
