Richardson's Geranium (Geranium richardsonii) is a graceful native perennial that brings a fresh, woodland charm to part shade gardens and naturalized landscapes. Delicate white flowers with striking purple veins bloom above deeply divided green foliage from late spring into summer, creating a bright and airy display that complements a wide range of native plants. Found naturally in mountain meadows, open forests, and streamside habitats throughout the West, this adaptable species thrives in soils with moderate moisture and gradually forms attractive colonies over time. Richardson's Geranium is an excellent companion for columbines, ferns, and other part shade-loving perennials and a lovely way to add softness and seasonal color to part shade beds and borders, woodland garden edges, and meadow plantings.
