Pinyon Pine (Pinus edulis) 'Lil Jake' is a dwarf conifer featuring an upright growth habit with very green needles. This petite grower will only add 1-3" per year, so while it can grow to be a taller tree than some other dwarf conifers it will take an extremely long time. The green needles tend to be short and add beautiful winter color and texture. 'Lil Jake' is drought tolerant and can handle low water and poor soils, making it perfect for year round interest in xeric garden beds and borders, rock gardens, hillsides, or other difficult areas. For best results, plant in sandy or loam soil with good drainage and be careful not to overwater.
