Oregon Boxwood (Paxistima myrsinites) 'Paxsid1' is a beautiful selection of our native Oregon Boxwood valued for its dense, upright habit, improved branching, and attractive evergreen foliage. This durable shrub provides year-round structure and color. While Oregon Boxwood can thrive in a wide range of conditions from full sun to partial shade, it will do best in an area where it gets some shelter during the hottest part of the day. It's leaves can also get winter burn when planted in full sun on a southern or western exposure. 'Paxsid1' is drought tolerant once established and requires little maintenance, making it an excellent choice for water-wise landscape garden beds and borders, foundation plantings, rock gardens, cottage gardens, formal plantings, and native plantings where dependable evergreen texture is desired. Oregon Boxwood is an excellent native alternative for low-growing boxwoods and can handle shaping to form a low hedge.
