Limber Pine (Pinus flexilis) is a stately native evergreen prized for its graceful form, blue-green needles, and soft, flexible branches. Exceptionally adaptable, this long-lived pine tolerates drought, wind, rocky soils, and cold winters, making it an excellent choice for water-wise landscapes. Its attractive evergreen foliage provide year-round beauty, while its seeds are an important food source for birds and other wildlife. This medium-sized tree may form a multi-stem trunk and is often pyramidal while young, but adapts a more open-topped, picturesque look in maturity. Plant Limber Pine as a specimen tree in large garden beds or woodland or shade gardens, or use as a windbreak or privacy screening.
