Fire Chalice (Epilobium canum) 'Northfork Coral' is a standout selection known for its brilliant coral-orange blooms that light up the late summer and fall garden when many other perennials are fading. Selected and popularized through High Country Gardens plant introductions, this form is especially valued for its strong color, long bloom season, and refined, low-growing habit that forms a tidy, spreading mat of fine green foliage. It is also more cold tolerant than some other Fire Chalice varieties and its tubular flowers are a magnet for hummingbirds! Use 'Northfork Coral' in dry garden beds and borders, rock gardens, cascading over rock walls, and cottage gardens. 'Northfork Coral' is a low-water plant, but giving it a little extra moisture at the end of the season will increase the blooms.
