Drummond Willow (Salix drummondiana) is a hardy native shrub found along Utah’s mountain streams, wetlands, and moist meadows, bringing lush greenery and valuable wildlife habitat to the landscape. Its upright form, attractive blue-green foliage, and soft spring catkins provide beauty from season to season while supporting an impressive diversity of native pollinators, butterflies, and birds. Adapted to moist soils, this willow is an excellent choice for pond or stream edges, rain gardens, or other garden beds or borders that receive ample moisture. Drummond Willow is not a water-wise plant, but is an excellent choice for wet areas where many natives cannot thrive.
