Vaseyana Mountain Big Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata var. vaseyana) is a subspecies of the native Big Sagebrush that typically grows at higher elevations than the regular species. Vaseyana Big Sagebrush stays more compact than the regular tridentata and features finely textured, silvery-gray foliage that forms an attractive, flat-topped from. Its leaves carry the same signature sage fragrance, but the overall appearance is tidier and more uniform, making it especially useful in designed plantings where a cleaner structure is desired. Use Vaseyana in restoration-style gardens, xeric native plantings, and naturalistic designs to provides year-round color and structure alongside native grasses and perennials.
