Western Sundancer Daisy (Tetraneuris acaulis/Hymenoxys acaulis) is a cute, long-lasting perennial for any xeric garden area. Beginning the year in a grass-like mound, this daisy shoots up small stems with cheerful yellow flowers from late spring to early fall. This flower is very drought tolerant and requires little maintenance. Leaving blooms will encourage reseeding to fill in the area. This plant can be grown without supplemental irrigation once established or with light irrigation. It will flower more prolificly with irrigation, but the soil must be well-draining. A beautiful addition to the front of garden beds and borders, cottage gardens, natural prairie or meadow plantings, or xeric gardens.
